Guest guest
That's the one. I stole the phrase "wee nugget" from this kick-ass spoken word chickee. She referred to all young people as "wee nuggets." which spoken word chickee? Yeah, I've heard of it and I always confuse it with Another State of Mind. I haven't seen it, though. Did you cry watching Watership Down, though? I was balling with that one... with the little ghost bunny and all... oh yeah..of course i did and i can't believe i just told everyone that... not as bad as plague dogs tho..that one really sucked!! i saw it once, and my ex and i swore never ever ever to watch it again...it'll rip yer lil heart out...and, i get enough of that in real life, i don't need an animated feature to help me along.. another one..."ring of bright water"..i think our mates from across the pond will know this one..i saw it twice in the very late 70's...on wpix ny or one of those stations(which one was channel 5 out of ny?)(wpix is 11 ain't it?) anyways..its about a pet otter..and the ending had me balling fer like a half our...granted, i was like 12 at the time..but still..i'd probably run away to blubber today if i saw it fraggle

How about Barefoot Gen? It's an animated feature either about Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Oh my gawd! That and Black Rain (old B & W flick.) They are enough to make anyone hate America. Not that I do, I'm just sayin' is all... It makes you really angry when you see the art that came out of something like that. How could we?! And twice! Very, VERY sad. And the extra scary kind of sad because you know someone didn't make it up -- it really happened. > > i still miss midge the otter from ring of bright water > amazing..i couldn't tell you wot i had fer breakfast, but, i remember the otter's name from a movie i saw over 20 yrs ago... That's how open a child's mind is. Things that shape you as develop, you never forget. They're always poignant and fresh! You fully absorb them and so can recall them at any time almost re-living them as if they happened yesterday -- or in your case, sometime after breakfast this morning, maybe -- jojo > > fraggle > > > > Don't know either of those! Guest guest
It's a small f*cking world, isn't it?! I think I'm going to break into song now...Nope. I'm not. Is Linda her real name? I know she goes by Lynnee and Breedlove is most definitely her last name -- I just couldn't remember it. Wendy-o-Matic sounds VERY familiar -- she may also have been on the tour or else my best friend has mentioned her before. I don't think that's who it was, tho'. This chick had really good hair and kind of bucked teeth. Her hair was platinum and longish in the front and real short and punk rock in the back. She did a thing about Cyndi Lauper that had me crying and laughing alternately. I didn't know anyone else growing up who was as inspired by Cyndi Lauper as I was, so it was kind of cathartic for me. Everyone else was into Madonna and it always made me feel so left out and alone... " Why don't they like Cyndi? Why?! Why don't I like Madonna? What's wrong with me?! " (actual thoughts going through my head as I sat alone on a bus with girlscout troup number umpteen and six as they all gathered in the back of the bus to listen to the newest Madonna cassette tape.) -- jojo - <EBbrewpunx Thursday, July 18, 2002 9:50 AM Re: fraggle time..as opposed to hammer time....or space time, or... > > hmmm > toured with linda breedlove was it?? > > ummm > wot did she look like? > was it wendy-o-matic by any chance?? > fraggle > > " jojo " <tofujojo wrote: > > >Unfortunately I don't remember her name, but I think she is from the San Francisco area and was touring with Lynnee from Tribe 8. Guest guest
Jojo I liked Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, which is strange as I'm not into much other than rock and metal. Guest guest
I think Cyndi had a fairly broad appeal albeit not as marketable as Madonna. It sort of reminds me of <gasp> Christina Aguillera vs. Britney Spears. BTW, Christina is a far better dresser, IMO. Britney looks like a slut. Guest guest
I'm afraid I cannot stand Madonna, or Britney Spears (don't know the other one - I really only listen to metal) Jo > I think Cyndi had a fairly broad appeal albeit not as marketable as Madonna. > It sort of reminds me of <gasp> Christina Aguillera vs. Britney Spears. > BTW, Christina is a far better dresser, IMO.
