Yikes! Not real ham, so no worries. Wouldn't dream of

scaring any little piggies. This is what I had for lunch

today. It makes a great lunchbox sandwich, too.

Ham, Cheese and Lettuce Wrap

3 or 4 slices Yves brand ham-style deli slices

1 white or whole wheat flour tortilla

1/3 cup grated Swiss cheese

1/2 cup shredded lettuce

Mayo (optional)

Dijon mustard (optional)

Spread the tortilla with the mayo and mustard if you like

them. Lay the ham-style slices on the tortilla. Sprinkle with

cheese and lettuce evenly. Roll up tightly. Wrap in plastic

wrap and chill for at least 1 hour. Makes one wrap.

Did ya have anything else with that lil thing?? Those Ives slices are

so thin and small.....wait that might have been the bologna looking

slices.

Are you a " tortilla outta the bag " type o' gal, or do ya heat it on

the skillet to brown before eating or cooling it in the fridge??

S. (where's them jalp slices ;)

No, just one of those was enough for me. The Yves slices

are kind of small around, but also sort of thick like bologna.

Three slices are about my limit for a sandwich.

As far as the tortillas, are you supposed to heat them first?

I only do that for soft shell tacos and of course a quesadilla.

But for the cold sandwich wrap I just grabbed it right out of

the bag; used a whole wheat flour tortilla, too.

I am out of pickled pepper slices! Thanks for reminding me to

add them to my grocery list. *lol*

Yes. They do strike my taste buds as more like bologna than

ham. But I like them. Yves makes a bologna sliced deli meat

too, but I have not tried them yet.

Lightweight!! ;)

Those must be the ones, though I don't remember them being very

thick....mmmm, I like 'em too. Fried Yves, cheese and jalp

sammiches!!

I use to buy the cold-cut type of subs all the time when they were on

sale (now i do the frozen patties...look for the green boxes). There

was always something on sale at the grocers (mainstream variety)...I

guess they are always well hidden in that " strange " part of the

produce aisle. I see them with the bottles of garlic and specialty

dressings and baskets of fresh herbs and non-popular produce (poor

lil guys will have their own aisle one day). I'd like to try that

squishy chorizo substitute...I bet there's some good recipes for

that....lotta spices and herbs!

I personally, just gotta brown them a lil over the stove or broiler.

I find that the taste comes out and is sooooo much better. I don't

taste much in an outta-package, cold tilla.

Mmmmm, pert near chapati!
