Guest guest
interesting!! i get canker sores in my mouth. does anyone know of a good vegetarian cure for them? last week i had 4 of them and suffered through them! ugh! > I get terrible cold sores when my mouth comes in contact with an allergen. Usually, I use tea tree or calendula. A few days ago, when two exploded on my mouth, I couldn't find the tee tree, so I tried Tiger Balm. It was astounding. One disappeared by morning, and the second after another day. They're still there, but the swelling and oozing is virtually gone. And I've checked, no animal products used. Since this is the season for cold sores, thought I'd pass this on. > > Donni > > >

Yep, they're terrible too. The classic remedy is to rinse your mouth several times a day with salt water. I also use tea tree as a mouthwash and dabbed right onto the sores. Tastes awful, but it helps to heal and numb the pain. Donni
Guest guest
Speaking of cleaning your popcorn/coffee boxes. Pop some salty popcorn in 'em and gobble the bag down for those sores. (warning: may take more than one bag). Oh, hey Donni or anyone....got any articles on tea tree oil benefits? Dusty Baker chews on Tea Tree Oil toothpicks while managing. He says that they are good for gums, the stomach and the body as a whole...speaking of whole, he gets 'em at Whole Foods. Thanks for any info! Guest guest
l-lysine is an amino acid that heals and prevents coldsores and any herpes viruses. your body cannot make l-lysine, so you have to supplement. you can get l-lysine at any health food store and there are vegetarian forms. it is especially helpful to take vitamin c along with the l-lysine to treat coldsores. food sources of lysine include: cheese, eggs, lima beans, milk, potatoes, soy products, and yeast. it is also helpful to avoid the amino acid l-arginine because it causes certain viruses, including the viruses that cause cold sores, to grow. foods that are rich in arginine include: chocolate, carob, coconut, walnuts, peanuts, white flour, wheat products, and oats. i've used l-lysine for years to treat sores in my mouth and it works! hope this info is helpful, susie --- Sheryl <ssarndt wrote: > i get canker sores in my mouth. does > anyone know of > a good vegetarian cure for them? last week i had 4 > of them and > suffered through them! ugh!
