Guest guest
Thank you for the info on Beri Beri Jimi. I also enjoyed the read on the links. Pixx, thanks for the Orange Chikken recipe. I must try it soon! Laetitia, glad that you joined. I already do the soap thing and I am quite fond of shea butter. It is the best - I use it in its raw form for when my hands or feet are really dry. I noticed you said that you don't put any preservative in your stuff. Does the liquid vitamin E not suffice as a preservative agent? I will soon be attempting my 1st bach of whipped shea and the recipe calls for liquid vitamin E, which supposedly preserves. I would love to hear your opinion on this and if in your opinion the vitamin E doesn't preserve the products you make. Thanks!! karen
Guest guest
Hi Kareen, The vitamin E is optional, you can do without it. I use it once a while, because it is good to help the skin cells to regenerate. I have been able to find only two bottle of vit E liquid so far here in Dublin: The Solgar and the Jason. The one I have now is the Solgar and does not seems to include any preservative. Here is its Description: http://65.200.170.239/cgi-bin/online_reference_new/online_ref.pl?function=Produc\ t & id=96801440122248 I find it quite good, it can be taken internally and externally. The only inconvenience is the smell. Since I use it for my cosmetics, I find very anoying to have the smell of Wheat Germ Oil added to my ingredients. I'd prefer the same oil without the weat germ. The other one I have seen is by Jason, I haven't tried it yet. Here is its description: http://www.jason-natural.com/html/pure_and_natural.html Again, I don't see here any preservative agent, just oils. I don't think that vitamin E do preserve the product I make, and whenever I put some, it is always in very small quantity. Someone with skin problems such as eczema, prosiasis, burnts or scars might want to use more of it.
