Guest guest
I think I may have just given 20+ women something to think about;) I just had my 1st monthly weigh-in at ‘Curves for Women”. Since become strictly vegetarian one month ago, and *almost* vegan (trying, but some times things sneak in on me), also with the addition of a workout program, I have lost 20.5 pounds, 19 inches, and reduced my body fat by 2.60% - in one month! Of course when everyone asked about my diet, I informed them that I was a new vegetarian, and quite a few women got excited – including a director, who said that she was interested in becoming one herself! She asked how I ‘felt’ in general and I told her ‘cleansed’. I think she just might! Spreading the word!!! Guest guest
Right on! Way to go. You should be so proud of your accomplishment. I also liked your answer to the " how do you feel " question. I think a lot of people buy into the myth that if you are a vegan you are going to be some frail, wan, lethargic weakling with little or no energy. Of course we all know that is far from the way it truely is to live as a vegetarian or vegan. You do feel cleansed and just better all around. Okay, I'm preachin' to the choir again. *lol* But bravo to you! :::starts round of applause::: ~ feral ~ There are three candles that illumine every darkness: truth, nature, and knowledge. ~ ancient Irish triad ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~> , " l. a l j u w a i e " <aljuwaie@c...> wrote: > I think I may have just given 20+ women something to think about;) > I just had my 1st monthly weigh-in at `Curves for Women " . Guest guest
wow, that's great! congrats! i know i never felt better than when i was vegan. and cleansed is the perfect word. and light. i'm leaning that way again and i notice that every time i do eat dairy i just feel ick. what i think is odd is that when most people hear i'm vegetarian, they assume that all i eat is grass and bark. and that i'm unhealthy. while i was vegan, my doctor actually insisted on running blood work on me to make sure i was okay. i was perfectly fine. i guess a lot of people have a hard time dropping the idea of a meat centric diet. i know i felt like i needed some sort of meat substitute at each meal when i first became vegetarian. but now i crave the veggies more. and i just naturally want less and less to do with dairy. for years i've used rice milk on my cereal. and now i'm using soy milk in my coffee. i figure every little bit helps.
