Guest guest
Eeek, I think I joined this group by mistake, LOL...I received an invitation and replied saying thanks for the invite but I'm on a lower-carb plan and do eat meat, but by replying to the invite I somehow got into the group! Oh well, I do eat lots of veggies and I'll take a look at the recipes. I'm on the Somersize plan (Suzanne Somers has several best selling books on this program) and reached my goal weight a couple years ago. My homepage (link on profile) has recipes and tips, my weight loss story, and before/after photos. There are some veggie recipes there, not sure if any are suitable for this group but you can look! Guest guest
Hey Cindy, you gave me a laff... it was a good opening line to post on a veggie postboard. Well, if you don't mind the topic of health food and veggie fare, then stick around. Maybe the universe is throwing you a veggie bone... lol. :] I have tryed the Atkins diet and taking subliments in the late 70s. Since the mid 80's, my offspring and I have been eating whole foods " macrobiotic " and vegetarian/vegan style to all of our good health. I eat more fruits and veggies, sprouts, seeds, etc. in the warm weather and more stews and whole grains come winter. In '85, I went from 168 to 125 and then uped my whole breads and grain intake to find a nice balance for my build [was too thin]. I think it's important to learn about the products we buy and how to combine besides getting healthy so am glad that you've had some guidance from Suzanne... Btw, Suzanne Somers is from my hometown [san Bruno, s.of SF] and my oldest brother was a classmate. She really looks great though suspect she's had a face lift. Guest guest
Hi David, I agree it is important to learn about products...I try to buy organic when possible, especially the meat, because of the antibiotics and hormones, nitrates, etc. I also buy cage free vegetarian eggs. Organic produce is getting easier to buy at the local grocery stores, but you usually have to go to special health food stores for everything else. I wish it were more readily available. That's neat that your brother was a classmate of Suzanne's. I'm pretty sure she didn't have a facelift though. I do know she uses the " Facemaster " , something she has sold on Home Shopping Club. I'm not sure how it works, it's a gadget with electronic probes that stimulate the muscles under your skin and works kinda like a mini- face lift without the surgery. She swears by it. I actually bought one of those a few years ago but have never gotten around to using it!
