Guest guest
hi everyone, as many of you know because of my health problems, I need my food prepared for me. so most the time I end up eating something frozen which is cool cause there are alot of good vegetarian dinners out there these days. one good thing I have now gone swimmuing 3 times and swimming 20 minutes worth of laps so it aint just like floppin around in the water. ok so this is what I want to talk about now. most of you have at one time or another eaten amy's food and its pretty good in my opinion. ok bottom line(yeah I talk too much) everyone out there is coimplainting about mcdonalds being all supersize. well the amy's country dinner is not enough size. it is so delicious yet when I finish it I could easily have another one. I am also anemic and the whole meal only has 11 grams of protein which is a little better than the amy's veggie loaf which btw is also good tasting but it only has 8 grams of protein. now one good thing amy's has started doing is making the family size version of some of their products. such as family size packs of enchiladas and a 4 pack of their veggie loafs. now if they could create a " hungry amy " version of their country dinner that would be just superb. btw I really hope that I didn't already post on this subject. I am truly sorry if I did. I sometimes forget things like that. also I have already emailed amy's foods so I am not just babbling here in this group. I know most of you are fortunate to be able to cook your food from scratch;however, if you were to try that particular amy dinner you would see why I like it. one more thing, I think this particular thing is the closest to that legendary early 70s nutloaf that I been asking about!!!lol anyways, sorry for the obnoxiously long book which was although vegetarian oriented was really more about my situation than the rest of the groups. stay cool, Dave
Guest guest
*lol* Feel free to babble all you want here, Dave, I always enjoy reading your posts. Good for you taking up swimming to get in some daily work out; it is most important you choose a form of excersize that you really enjoy and that way you will more apt to stick with it. I like to jump rope; do that for my heart and it makes me feel like a 40 year old kid. Three days a week I do some weights at the gym for strong bones and muscles, but it still isn't as much fun as jumping rope to good music. *lol* I enjoy those Amy's brand convenience dinners, too. I agree they are small. Even the eggplant parmesan is sort of small, but with a salad and a slice of garlic bread it is filling enough for me. I will keep a lookout for the country dinner. When I am lucky I find her meals for half the price at a grocery outlet; then I stock up my freezer b/c they are great for quick lunches or dinner on nights I get home too late to fix a proper meal. Guest guest
well PT, this time I went all out. I emailed amys again and told them about this lovely group and that I aint the only hungry vegetarian out there. their site has this seperate section where amy herself looks at the email. who knows whats really up lol. here is their site, http://www.amys.com maybe if some of you also share my opinion that some of amy's dinners are too small you can email her/them and tell them whats up.another thing we have talked to various store managers about fall apart burritos and they say that they will come again whenever they do. its just a matter of time. sort of like how the vegetarian eggrolls were not around for awhile but then they showed up again. well thats about it for now. stay cool, Dave
Guest guest
Thanks Dave. Maybe Amy's will check us out. i will try to send her an email this week and suggest they change the portion size of some of their meals. i think perhaps the grocery store you shop at will eventually catch up to meet the demand via their computerized inventory process. i know when i worked retail it was like that~ the more times an item was scanned the more the computer would reorder to restock the shelves; however sometimes there was a bit of a lag before the product came in. ~ pt ~ The Muse, nae poet ever fand [found] her, Till by himself he learn'd to wander Adown some trotting burn's meander, An' no think lang [long]. ~ Robert Burns, " Epistle to William Simpson, Ochiltree " ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~> , " Dave " <phantombluefan> wrote: > well PT, this time I went all out. Guest guest
it's so refreshing that the founder of a company is personally involved with the correspondence. just another reason to feel good about buying amy's products. hope she doesn't sale out to a big evil corporation! i'm a big fan of amy's enchiladas (both the cheese and the black bean). when paired with sides, such as a salad, beans and rice, or fresh fruit it makes for a substantial meal. the pizzas are a good a size too. one (i like the black olive and mushroom or the spinach) is big enough for a light meal for my family (3 of us), although i usually serve a tossed salad along side. but, i agree that some of her products just don't fill a person up. good luck with your endeavors, dave. susie --- Dave <phantombluefan wrote: > well PT, this time I went all out.
