Guest guest
*sigh* I knew I wouldn't be able to get away with making totaly meatless meals for the whole of my grandparents visit. I usualy can't even manage it when they aren't here so I wasn't going to try. Last night I fixed a chicken dish at my mothers requested. It was one of those there you bake the chicken and rice and cream of mushroom soup together in a pan. It used to be my very favorite meal. However I set a goal to not eat meat at all this week, which was hundered slighly by a McD's salad that I probably wasn't successful picking all the bacon out of. I've been doing great other than that though. So last night I fix this dish and left the slot in the pan where my peice of chicken would have been on top of the rice blank. Well well well, it's a really good thing I made black eyed pees to go along with the salad b/c my family ate all my part of the rice while I was eating up a salad LoL. I usualy eat a pretty good sized salad with every meal (except breakfast) these days just because it's better than filling up on what could be a fattening side dish. I was pretty bummed but kinda found it funny. Anyway grandma insisted on going back to McD's today for lunch and I got shamed into going. I couldn't get anything except french fries and seeing thats not very healthy I decline lunch with the intention of fixing something quick when I got back home. I would have had another salad but I don't like that feta cheese they put all over it and anyway I wanted something hot. Skipping lunch wasn't all that hard b/c my mother told me we were going out to dinner tonight so I didn't have to cook. I was envisioning a yummy veggie patch pizza at Applebees and wouldn't you know they changed their mind. They went to get chicken. Now I can't help but wonder weather my mom is trying to make things difficult on purpose or not knowing full well I have a hard time parting with chicken, but either way it's annoying. Now I'll have to go look for some pictures online of people doing mean things to chickens to help me keep my goal and thats not very fun LoL I'm trying not to be grouchy since it doesn't leave a very good impression (not to mention being unladylike) but it's kind of hard since I got myself in a lazy sort of mood and now I don't feel like cooking and we ate the last of the stuff to make salad with last night. My mom and grandma probably won't bring any back either even though I asked them to. I can see it now, " Gee Laia we just forgot " . *Deep Breath* Ah, ok now I've vented and am over it so I guess I should go get off my lazy butt and see what I can savange for a meal. LoL, guess I better keep a better eye on whatever I fix if I actualy want some of it tonight lol ~Leia
Guest guest
sorry your family is unsupportive. you may have to keep peanut butter and jelly so you can make a sandwich when they are inconsiderate of your diet. anywho, just so you know, mcdonald's french fries are not vegetarian...they have beef in them. good luck, susie --- Leia <girlbaby16 wrote: > > *sigh* I knew I wouldn't be able to get away with > making totaly > meatless meals for the whole of my grandparents > visit. Guest guest
Gosh dinner wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Well except when they came home and had all this chicken and slaw (I don't like slaw either lol), and potatoe salad and momma got made b/c I was cooking and " making the kitchen hot " I believe were her exact words. Well do you know what? There is barely enough of the veggie meal I made for me left to eat with a salad tomarrow for lunch. They took one look at it and everybody had to have a taste or two... or a whole helping. LoL I was expecting to be eating that for several days since the recipe says it filled up a whole family at the bottom (bravo whoever posted the italian throw together dinner!! What a dinner saver!). My mom, who was the one complaining about me cooking was the one who had the most of it and raved about how it was " pretty good " . Good thing I didn't decide to down size the recipe. I swear I'm gonna Have to eat meat next week I'll starve if they keep cleaning up my meals (like they did last night) before I get to eat them. Thats right, I read that about the french fries somewhere and had forgotten. Well now I feel a bit more justified in just having a coke for lunch there. I got busy when I came home and fogot to cook my mushrooms I've been saving- hope they haven't gone bad! I haven't decided how picky I'm going to get about things made with beef/chicken stock/broth yet. So far it's all I can do to just give up the actual meat and things with meat in them. lol baby steps I suppose. Guess I should keep thinking about all the things I can eat instead of the ones I can't. LoL, I travel so much though I don't know how I'll made it on trips without McD's french fries lol. ~Leia , " artichoke72x " <artichoke72x> wrote: > sorry your family is unsupportive. you may have to > keep peanut butter and jelly so you can make a > sandwich when they are inconsiderate of your diet. > anywho, just so you know, mcdonald's french fries are > not vegetarian...they have beef in them. > good luck, > susie > > --- Leia <girlbaby16> wrote: > > > > *sigh* I knew I wouldn't be able to get away with > > making totaly > > meatless meals for the whole of my grandparents > > visit. > Anyway grandma insisted on going > > back to McD's today for lunch and I got shamed into > > going.
