Guest guest
I am not vegetarian but do incorporate all healthy foods into our diet. I have mulitple health problems which prevent me from being able to work outside the home... I do sewing for others to make $$ and to keep me sane...! Cooking is just one of my passions!! I like to cook foods of all ethnicities... Healthy would be the one word to describe how I try to eat... I look forward to learning more from all of you! Does anyone have any vegetarian cookbooks that are a favorite?? I would like to know if there is one that is a step above the others for purchasing... Thanks for the invite and take care to all, Gloria
Guest guest
There's an old two-volume set called the Vegetarian Epicure that was good, for one, though a little weaker on vegan stuff. But the stuff in the collection here isn't bad either. I've been copying and pasting for half a year and I've got a great collection that'll last me a good long while :-D , " Gloria " <chefgloria1030> wrote: > I am not vegetarian but do incorporate all healthy foods into our > diet. My favourite is The Passionate Vegetarian by Crescent Dragonwagon. I’ve heard that the Moosewood Cookbook and The Enchanged Broccoli Forest both by Mollie Katzen are great too (I don’t have either one, but they’re both on my wishlist). Moosewood is one of the top ten bestselling cookbooks of all time, I believe. _____ -- Sherri " A nymphomaniac is a woman as obsessed with sex as the average man. Guest guest
Anna actually put out a " New Vegetarian Epicure " in the mid-90s, too. I like the books, and " The Vegetarian Epicure " (they aren't really a set; one came out way before the other) was the first vegetarian cookbook I ever had. I still use some of the recipes in there. Many of the recipes, though, are very elaborate and better for entertaining. And man, they are SO cheese-heavy! If you like cooking lots of ethnic food, " The Vegetarian Epicure Book Two " has more ethnic recipes. It's different from the original in that it explores lots of different ethnic foods from all over Europe. The foods aren't always healthful, in that they use a lot of cheese and butter. I usually alter them to make them more healthful- I use cooking spray instead of loads of butter, and sometimes use less cheese than is recommended. I also second the recommendation to look through the collection here- the recipes are so varied! You could go for weeks without ever having a meal similar to the one before. radcsusa <radcsusa wrote: There's an old two-volume set called the Vegetarian Epicure that was good, for one, though a little weaker on vegan stuff.
