Guest guest
No joke, but the Neocons and PKers and so on do indeed use vegetarianism as one of the signs of dreaded " liberalism " and thus mark people who are veggie as " the enemy " . Here in Nebraska it's meatland, and Neocon to the bone. We're the only mono-cameral state in the alleged country, and yes, it's REPUBLICAN. Vegetarians here are considered just short of communist traitors. (They are stuck in the 1930s for much of their references.) The hostility is such that some restaurants actually offer " vegetarian " fare into which they sneak non-veggie ingredients, almost as if to punish us.
