Guest guest
Thanks for the kudo's on the weight loss thing, it's like weight off my shoulders (drum roll). Anyway, as far as the persuasion for the faculty of your school. Just say this, Vegetarianism is a lifestyle and a choice we choose to make. And even if the group is just going to be people who want to ear healthier, there's no sound reason they can make for not letting you start one, if it's in the best interests of the health of the student body, just tell them that, I've been thinking of starting one at my school next year, but, we'll see. For now Cheers -Jawsh
Guest guest
Thanks again Jawsh (awesome spelling by the way) I go to an ALL GIRLS, CATHOLIC high school. I am not even Catholicl...but anyway those types of arguements would not help very well. You have to have a different outlook. I would use those lines when debating people, but (and I hate to say this is true) I ahve to " suck-up " to the faculty. Sweet-talk will only work. Here is the letter so far. I have lots of notes that I have no formulated into sentences yet, so don't laugh at the plainess. Dear Mrs. *, My friend, **, and I are interested in starting a club for the 2004- 2005 school year. The club would be centered on healthy eating, lifestyles, and animal rights. ** and I think the best sponsor for this club would be a health/physical education teacher. Since they already teach a health lesson in their class, they would be the best to provide sponsorship. Meetings would be held about once a month after school. A cute name we thought of was Veg Heads. ** and I are vegetarians and are very interested in healthy lifestyles. We also know that there are numerous other vegetarians in the school who would be interested in joining this project. The club of course would not be targeted just to vegetarians. It would be open to everyone interested in animal rights and healthy lifestyles. We would also like to get involved in some community programs. We would hold debates and discussions on important issues. Please send us any suggestions so that we can make our idea even better! Sincerely, *** Well, that looks pretty sad. Guest guest
Hmm, all girls catholic school you say. Well, if need be you can whip through a search on google or something and find some bible verses that justify vegetarianism or a healthy lifestyle. And if that doesn't work, get in contact and start a group outside of school, just some people who meet once a week or something and talk about different subjects. Well, that's my bright ideas. Honestly the letter is well composed as should act as some sort of a persuasive medium. Well thats it for me, Cheers. Jawsh [and yes, that is awesome spelling isn't it ;-)]
Guest guest
Score one for Jawsh. Our backup plan was to go outside of school. We would have meetings at my house and could have boys from the all boys school down the block belong also. P.S: You know your name looks like Oh My Jawsh! Guest guest
My mother almost named me Revheka. (I can't even spell it properly). It's Russian for Rebecca. I need to go also. I don't have MSN, but used to. I am hypocritical and have AOL AIM even though I hate AOL with all my soul.
