Guest guest
i was hoping some person here that uses more soy milk in cooking might weigh in on that question. i was wondering what sort of problems you were having specifically when you substitute in soy for cow milk in recipes? Is it the taste overpowering or is it the texture, or both perhaps? Personally when i make a soup, like the one i posted, that called for 3 cups of milk, i just use cow milk as suggested in the recipe, but then i am lacto-ovo. There are a lot of different types of vegan milks you could try if the commercial soy milks don't suit you. Have you tried cooking with rice, almond, or cashew milks? i have cookbook by these monks and they are vegan, in this book the describe some milk making processes b/c they say it it less expensive to make their own, plus there is more control over what is in it. It being the weekend, if you want me to type some recipes for these vegan milks, well i might not get to it until monday, mmmkay? [couldn't resist *lol*] Party recipes? Do check out our files. There are a bunch of finger foods, dips, etc in this file that are tried and true: then click on 'Appetizers' BTW, Franz Ferdinand is awesome. i love their music, too. ~ pt ~ Riches are not from abundance of worldly goods, but from a contented mind. ~ Mohammed ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " iseemarshmellows " < squinkabink@b...> wrote: > I don't think I clearly stating I wanted a reply to two of my emails. > Sorry about that. > One was how to properly substitute Soy milk for Cow's milk. > The other was ideas for easy to make, easy to eat party food. > If they are also easy to cook a couple of days before then heat up/ > freeze/ cool off that would be wonderful also. Guest guest
There is never anything wrong with taste or texture. Soy milk just makes it very watery. I have a problem with the consistency. That's all! Guest guest
You have to raise one eyebrow when you say it. It makes it even more fun and effective. iseemarshmellows <squinkabink wrote:I'm going to say mmmmk forever from now on. This is so hilarious.
