Guest guest
For a vegan, what is a good, soothing soup for a sore throat and the beginnings of a cold? I was thinking tomato, then realized it would likely be a bit too acidic for my throat... any ideas or recipes? Thanks! =D *Beka*
Guest guest
I usually eat tomato, myself. But I've found that a good, clear vegetable broth can be just as soothing. Whole Foods has, in the bulk section, a vegan faux-chicken broth powder. They also carry a " no-chicken broth " that comes pre-mixed. I hope your throat feels better soon Rebecca Stubbs <beka_madrene wrote: For a vegan, what is a good, soothing soup for a sore throat and the beginnings of a cold? Guest guest
I also find Miso soup is good for a sore throat...along with some tea. I usually use some throat coat or some kind of " cold " ailment tea...with that echinacia herb...cant spell it. Too lazy too look. ~Mel --- reptile grrl <reptilegoddess wrote: > I usually eat tomato, myself. Guest guest
Sorry to read you aren't feeling well; hope that changes soon. When i catch colds i usually don't get sore throats so spicey soups are what i go for to help clear my stuffy head~ that probably wouldn't be a good idea for your throat though. How about a nice vegetable broth? i see someone else mentioned herbal throat coat tea. Traditional Medicinals ¨ makes one called throat coat that i like and find soothing. Also the Gypsy cold care PM by the same company is good. Lots of rest and fluids for you. Get well soon. ~ pt ~ Keep them from harm, Keep them from jealousy, Keep them from spell, From North to South. ~ Scots Gaelic blessing for the protection of animals [trans.CM] ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " Rebecca Stubbs " < beka_madrene> wrote: > For a vegan, what is a good, soothing soup for a sore throat and the > beginnings of a cold? Guest guest
Thank you so much for all the suggestions I found a great veggie soup that was very brothy, and that helped quite a bit. Also grabbed some throat tea... Celestial Seasonings, Throat Soothers. Yummy stuff Thanks again! *Beka*
