Guest guest
Hi we are new here! We have adopted vgetarian eating habits for reasons of simplicity and health. We have also returned to our earlier practice of going BareFoot as a lifestyle, again for reasons of heath and simplicity, but with a spirtual component in the mix . In practical terms it helps us consume almost no leather , and in addition to bicycling for transport ,much less oil. does anyone else share this preference ? Getting tossed out of a store or two has the side effect of making one think seriously about one's purchasing habits <LOL> Merry and BareFoot part! Guest guest
I always find that fascinating. Do you go totally barefoot or could you consider flip flop/ sandal type shoes that are not made from animals? Keep doing what you believe in, it's very cool. Guest guest
Just a note about the " no shoes, no service " rule in some stores...I believe that has more to do with their liability insurance than anything else Andrew
Guest guest
I didn't see the original post but what about looking for vegan shoes like those sold at veganessentials.com and other sites? Guest guest
hi, helena and max, welcome to the group! my profession wouldn't really allow for a barefoot lifestyle (and me being the klutz that i am, i 'd probably step on a lot of painful stuff), but i haven't had much trouble finding vegan sneakers as of yet. i do like the feel of fresh grass between my toes, though!! melody http://www.flawlessfitness.com http://www.melodysmusic.net
Guest guest
Warm welcome. i prefer to go barefoot too, but the pavement around here is so stinkin' hot in the summer! i wear sandals just to get me through the door of the cool places, then just take the shoes back off. If less of the world was paved over i'd go barefoot more often. BTW, i have never been kicked out of a store yet. *lol* What sorts of simple vegan dishes are your favorite? Do check out our files section; we have many wonderful recipes stored there that you might enjoy.
