Guest guest
Hi I made my first batch of soya milk today ( with a mixer and forgot to boil the milk after straining it.....so threw it away as it was too watery...then realised my mistake so am on batch two now....DOH!!) Anyway, I wondered if anyone knows what I can use the pulp/okara for as it seems a shame to waste it. At the moment I have it in a bowl in the fridge...hoping someone can tell me I can make something from it Many thanks Deb
Guest guest
Hi Deb. i don't know any use for it other than composting. If you give it back to the earth to enrich the soil it isn't wasting it, imo. But perhaps someone here will have a culinary use for it for you to try. namaste ~ pt ~ We ought not to treat living creatures like shoes or household belongings, which when worn with use we throw away. ~ Plutarch, biographer (c. 46-120) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~> , " buffet_the_cake_slayer " < silentflute@o...> wrote: > Anyway, I wondered if anyone knows what I can use the pulp/okara for > as it seems a shame to waste it. Guest guest
Awesome sites, Nancy. Thank you so much for sharing and demystifying the tofu process. Is this site your own? Either way, do feel free to add these great links into our group's LINKS section. Looks so simple when you have pictures to follow. ~ pt ~ Those who think that they have arrived, have lost their way. It's at http://members.cox.net/meritra/ tofu/ . The specific page is > http://members.cox.net/meritra/tofu/cookbean.html . It's not the best picture, but it will give you an idea of what it looks like. > > I've also made tempeh from this stuff. Nothing gets wasted that way, and you get two products: tofu and tempeh! > > Nancy >
