Guest guest
Those were the only shoes I wore in the 70's and 80's. I don't remember when I could no longer find them. Guest guest
Wal-Mart bought the Earth Shoes franchise years ago. So you can maybe find them there, if you think that's an ethical place to shop (I don't; I have not shopped there in years, but they had the shoes in 1999.) Of course, since it's Wal-Mart, the quality has probably gone downhill. macca scruff <maccascruff wrote:Those were the only shoes I wore in the 70's and 80's. Very, very comfy, no, I would say the quality is still very good for the price. From experience I don't equate price with quality, or brand name with quality either, for that matter. And yes, they do have leather uppers. I won't buy that plastic man-made junk from Kmart and worse, it is hot, sticky and uncomfortable. As for being ethical, do you honestly think any of them are? It is all about money, girl....Money and survival.

Some businesses are more ethical than others. Target, for instance, treats its employees better than Wal-Mart. Real Goods is probably better to its employees than either of the former companies. I myself have worked for companies that were very good to employees, companies that were very bad to them, and some in-between. >It is all about money, girl....Money and survival. I'm sorry you feel that way. All, or Nearly all of them (including the overpriced stores) sell merchandise that is made overseas in factories which pay deplorable wages and have deplorable working conditions. Look at the labels, you will see very few items are made in the US. > >It is all about money, girl....Money and survival. > > I'm sorry you feel that way. Although I've been very poor, and in fact am financially poor at this time, that has never been my philosophy. I did not say that " I " felt that way. Unfortunately that is in fact the way that corporate Amerika operates. Time and life experience will teach you.
Guest guest
There's no need to be so rudely condescending. I have more life experience than you assume. cheryll <naturalist_44240 wrote:Time and life experience will teach you.
