E coli

I got a letter in the mail yesterday from a major " club " type store of which I

have a membership to. It was to inform people that their store had sold meat

that had E coli and had harmed some people. It was basically a recall of all

the brand of meat that might have been at risk.

Glad I'm a vegetarian, that's kind of scary.

Eeek! *lol*

Me too. Though we aren't immune.

Sometimes veggies get it too.

Maybe from animal poop used as fertilizers or

from meat juices being dripped on the veggies

or fruits during transit... not sure how it gets there.[?]

i remember last summer we had a scare with e coli

or salmonilla [sp] on mellons from Mexico.

Yes! Thankfully it is. :)

For some years my heart was proud, for as the beauty

sank into memory it seemed to become a personal possession,

and I said " I imagined this " when I should humbly have said,

" The curtain was a little lifted that I might see. "

Here's another way to catch E. Coli - not that I'm recommending

it!! ;) Yesterday the Centre for Disease Control here in B.C. put out

a province-wide warning for people to be careful when they visit

petting zoos. Why? Because at least six children picked up E.Coli

after visiting two different petting zoos in Greater Vancouver. The

problem occurs when the kids rub their faces into the animal fur or

pet the animals and don't wash their hands afterwards.

So since it is almost fall exhibition time, all you veg-heads who

like to visit petting zoos and 4-H displays (guilty as charged), make

sure you wash your hands carefully after petting the goats, cows, and

pot-bellied pigs. ;)

Cheers,

Kathy
