vegan mac and cheese?

Hi I'm looking for a tried-and-true vegan mac and cheese recipe that

kids will like and I can make with ingredients from a local

supermarket. thanks!!!

Well, my local supermarket carries these things...so I make it like a " real " mac

and cheese

with a white sauce and add cheese. sorry I don't have measurements, I always

wing it.

 

some butter

about and equal amount of flour

make a roux

 

add room temperature or slightly warm unsweetened soy milk to a thinnish

consistency -

then allow to heat and thicken.

 

I prefer vegan gourmet and add the monterey jack and cheddar.

Add salt, pepper, some mustard, and some onion powder. Stir until " cheese "

melts - that

could be a few minutes.

 

pour over noodles and single serve or bake in oven with rice parmesan and dairy

free

bread crumbs.

 

Also use sauce for potatoes, broccoli, etc.

I dont know if you have access to nutritional yeast but if you do this

recipe is great and my kids love it and its 100% vegan.
