Guest guest
Kim, I am so thankful to you for making my life easier for organizing all those recipes in the files section, and continuing to do so. I have a question. I was wondering if there was anyway we could figure out a rating system of some sort. There are so many recipes and I am hesitant to try most of them because I don't know if anyone has ever made them, and liked them. It would be nice to atleast have TNT on the ones that someone has made, but even better if somehow we could rate them with *** stars or something. Just some thoughts... Thanks! -Nina Mail - You care about security. So do we.
Guest guest
This is an excellent idea. There is one recipe web user that I frequent and they have a rating system, and a review part where you actually tell what you did or did not like about the recipe, and what you would change next time. It's a great way to comunicate about the recipes. Guest guest
Charleen, Can you give us the url for that site, please? Guest guest
Hi Nina, The only way I can see of somehow rating the recipes is to add comments under the recipes. We are limited to what we can do in the files. I suppose along with the comment everyone could add a one * through to 5 ***** rating with each each comment, but it wouldn't be possible to have an overall star rating (as in VegWeb and Recipezaar). There are a few recipes with comments underneath, but not many. If someone does have any comments about any of the recipes I would be more than happy to add them. Guest guest
Im not Vegan or a strict GF eater, however I am gluten sensitive. Luckily my symtoms are not as bad as some people, I can eat gluten without and major side effects. But my favorite recipe site is www.epicurious.com. It has a great rating system, and I'm sure you would even find some recipes that you could use, the site is so easy to use. They have a great GF Scalloped Potatoe recipe that is amazing! It is made with rice milk, almond butter, and nutmeg. Check it out. Charleen LaVonne Ellis <mcs-ci-hope wrote: Charleen, Can you give us the url for that site, please? Guest guest
Two other sites that use a rating system are VegWeb and Recipezaar. http://vegweb.com/ http://www.recipezaar.com/ I love the filters on Recipezaar (gluten-free, vegan, cakes, etc.), they make it really easy to find just what you're looking for. > But my favorite recipe site is www.epicurious.com. Guest guest
This is exciting! Do you put the recipes in the files for us or are we supposed to put them in there ourselves? Guest guest
Hi Tamara, Just post any recipes here and I'll put them in the files for you. I'll also do any conversions for those of us that use metric (or vice- versa). So please post away, all new recipes are more than welcome. Kim , " Tamara S. Guest guest
Kim does a wonderful job of organizing and filing the recipes we post here on Vegan and Gluten Free. So, post away. . .share your recipes. . .and Kim will make sure they find the proper files and folders so we can find them again easily when we need them. I really appreciate Kim! Guest guest
Hi Charleen, All the recipes are posted here first. Sometime back Jenni and I went through ALL the messages and sorted ALL the recipes into category folders. I then went through all of the folders and added conversions, alternative names, added SF or *SF to those applicable, made all the abbreviations uniform and tidied up the layout of the recipes. As the recipes are posted now I do all that before placing them in their category folders in the files. Kim PS. If anyone does find any mistakes (I know I've found a few) please let me know so I can fix it. , Charleen <kiasmine wrote: > > I always wondered if all the new recipes that show up on file......are they posted here first? > > Charleen
Guest guest
A few days ago a member said they couldn't upload a recipe into the files. If you post your recipes to the group we moderators will file the recipes in folders by category for you. Donna
