Guest guest
Chickee Cheese Spread - Vegan This one is great in sandwiches, burritos or tortillas. Use it just like you would any spread cheese. Delicious on Pizza or baked on top of a pita bread with lightly steamed veggies on top. Makes a wonderful cracker spread. 2 c. Garbanzo Beans, cooked 1/2 c. Cashews Raw 2 T. Sesame Tahini 2 t. Onion Powder 1 1/2 t. Salt 1/4 c. Lemon Juice 1/4 c. Nutritional Yeast Flakes 1/2 c. Pimientos 1 t. Garlic pwd. or 1 cloved minced 1 1/2 - 2 c. Water(just enought to blend to thick consistency) Grind the cashews in blender. Then add ALL other ingredients and blend with enough water to make it thick and creamy. If you have a vita - mix, it works great for this. If you are using a regular blender, do this recipe , half at a time to ensure proper blending consistency. If using canned garbanzo beans, rinse first and use 1/2 t. less salt. Place in a container and chill. Serve.
