Guest guest
Guess what? This sounds good and it's already filed. I stuck it in there right now..Donna RhymeMaster0313 wrote: Hey Ya'll, Here's something I came up with and I've made it twice. It's delicious, if you ask me, LOL. Really simple too. Stewed Tomato Spaghetti One 26 or 32 oz. jar or can of pasta sauce, your choice of brand (you can make your own if you have a recipe that you like) One 16 oz. can of stewed tomatoes, once again, your choice of brand One 1-lb. box of spaghetti noodles, once again your choice of brand (Or any other type of pasta, such as linguini or fettuccini, if you like) Put the pasta on to boil in a kettle. In a smaller kettle, heat up the pasta sauce (or make your own that's measurement is equivalent to 26-32 oz.). In another small kettle, heat the stewed tomatoes. Let the sauce and tomatoes get warm but not so hot that it burns, LOL. When the pasta gets done, strain it. You can either mix the tomatoes and sauce together, or leave it separate and let people choose if they want the tomatoes or not. If your sauce is very thick, you could add some of the juice from the tomatoes to it, but if it's already kinda thin, that probably wouldn't be a good idea, LOL. You can either mix the sauce with the pasta, or leave it seperate, whichever you prefer. I find it pretty good if you add just a little garlic salt to the sauce and tomatoes, and a little Italian seasoning that you can buy in the store to it too, and then put parmesan on the spaghetti once it's on your plate. Depending on how many mouths you have to feed, you could double/divide this recipe as needed. I've never eaten it with garlic bread yet, but I'd imagine that it would be a great combo, as spaghetti and garlic bread usually are. :-) This is so good, and so simple. I love it, I just LOVE it! :-D Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! Love & Peace Up, ***Sara***
Guest guest
Nothing is trouble Sara. I just click edit in the file and make and adjustment. Let me know anytime. It sounds like a good recipe. I loved canned tomatoes, You can do so much with them. Hugs, Donna RhymeMaster0313 wrote: That's good. :-) I was afraid it would be trouble for you to go back and change it after it had already been filed. It's a relief to know it's not any trouble, LOL. :-) Love & Peace Up, ***Sara***
Guest guest
-Sara, I too love canned tomatoes. One of my favorites is to use them right out of the can to top cooked pasta. You are so right . No fat calories. Good to read that you and your Grandma prepare food together. I loved doing that with my grandma who is no longer living. What an intelligent, caring young lady you are. So happy to have you in the group. Sending smiles and hugs your way. Guest guest
Have you seen the Smart ground in taco flavor? Mix it with crushed up canned tomatoes and make soft tacos with it. I'll bet Gran would love it and probably not even know it's a meat sub. Donna RhymeMaster0313 wrote: Thanks! :-) I love canned tomatoes too.
