Thanks Shelly! He's (me too) is sooo proud of himself.

He keeps reminding me that tomorrow he will have been

a vegetarian for a week. He is really enjoying

himself/ We went to our fav Mexican restaurant and he

ordered a bean burrito (no lard) and was like " Did you

see that? A week ago I would have ordered beef or

chicken but now that I'm a vegetarian... " I have to

say that being a vegetarian is almost a religious

thing for me (a very heartfelt deep belief) and I feel

like he's enlightened. He's really happy to be one of

" us " . :) It's going to be much easier to raise a

veggie child!!

Way to go, Jenn!!!! Congrats!!!! This will make your life and your baby's

life sooo much easier and you'll be livin' in harmony!! I'm so happy for

y'all!!!

I know just what you mean about quietly educating in kindness and

compassion. Dh and I do this at our church, dropping seeds hither and

yon...:>)...as it were... Recently a man who has been sneering at us for

weeks about being veg, accepted a book we loaned him and promised to read

it. The book was " Mad Cowboy " and I do advise everybody get a copy and read

it and then share it with others.

Well, he came back with a very sobered look on his face and asked us " are

y'all vegans? " we told him we are half and half because it's so hard to be

straight vegan in our neck of the woods, at least. But that we try to stay

away from dairy as much as possible, and when we can't we use strictly

organic. His face was PALE, I mean to tell you! There were no more mocking

words from him; rather, he thanked me and dh for caring enough to share the

book with him...and he said " it will be hard to go without meat " , and we

said, 'not real hard, look at all the great products at Walmart and other

places, and we can help you with ideas for recipes, if you want'. He

brightened up and said, " Oh yeah, well, thanks, you guys, I really

appreciate it. " His wife came to me and said, " Well, don't you eat squirrel

or deer, I mean THEY eat natural things! " I winced and said, " No, and I

wouldn't think of it. The things they eat are full of pesticides that people

have put into the ground and that leach into the soil and the trees. And

besides, we wouldn't eat an animal EVER again, because it's cruel. " She

looked like she'd been hit over the head with a two by four. I don't think

she or her husband have yet had any thoughts about cruelty and

barbarism...sigh...

But one must continue dropping the seeds...and be patient..or at least bite

one's lip...

Remembering, " There but for the grace of God WENT I... "

Congrats again, Jenn!

hugs,

Bron

Can you tell me again the author of Mad Cowboy. I now it's been

discussed before but I've now decided I must get it.

Thanks
