Guest guest
There is the posibility that the lentils were just a tough batch. I had a batch that took forever to cook. It does happen once in a great while. Could they have been old? I've heard that could make a difference. They taste great but a little too *crunchy*. By the way I roasted mine on my new clay slate and it worked great. Does anyone have a recipe for Vegan carmel popcorn? Guest guest
D onna, Could be old ..I decided to boil these on the stove just to see what would happen..They have been cooking for 30 minutes and still hard. Never had that happen before. I will not give up if I have to cook them all day..LOL Deanna-- In , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > There is the posibility that the lentils were just a tough batch. Guest guest
That's the problem I have had with lentils. I did notice if the lentils are a beige color that take longer to cook. I try to find darker ones. Not sure if any other members have taken notice of this. Keep them cookin' sweet one. Guest guest
-Donna, Yep they were the beige colored Lentils ..I have two different kind, orange and beige. The last bag was fine but this one must be old. I pan cooked the *cruchies* in liguid on the stove top for an hour and those little rascals are still not what I would call done. Scary huh? LOL..I think I will take them back to the store on my next visit. By the way my Fideo/Orzo was great. Daughter's family loved it. Thanks for the Tamale info. I think I am ready to try it now. Just needed to get it all straight in my mind before begining. Smiles and hugs Deanna -- In , Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > > That's the problem I have had with lentils.
