Guest guest
That's right lazy food. I agree with you and Donna, how do people start the day off with a slushy artificial colored tall sugared drink? I usually start my day off with a bowl of kasha and soy milk. I work with the two donuts and coffee crew at work. LOL Just dip your Oreos (I'm sure the double stuff ones would even be better) in pancake batter and fry them in a lot of grease. Breakfast anyone? Shudder. This actually brings tears to my eyes. Sorry to be so graphic..but what a sorry start to a day! Oy that is just awful! My breakfast is either Kashi Go Lean Crunch with yogurt, or a bagel with shredded carrots, sprouts (and now I know how good they are for me and I want to grow my own thanks to GB), scallions, cream cheese, maybe a pickle or two, or leftovers from dinner. I rarely buy pop, quit smoking in 1990. My daughters consider pop to be water with a squeezed lemon or lime or some other fruit in season in it. If I'm really feeling fancy I get out the punch bowl and they (11 year old and friends) set up a stand for passerby. But I do love pickles. Any size, shape, flavor. Its embarrassing to look in my refrigerator and see all the pickles/peppers in there. AmyF <------hanging head in sodium shame
Guest guest
Hi all--I've been going through the digests and was darkly amused, but not amazed, at the poor woman who bought the rib sandwiches and tall slushy and other stuff. It is incredible what some people will eat! Guess I've been broken in by having to work concession stand for various sport activities at school while my sons were in the younger grades. Big favorite, of course, is french fries, but what is interesting are the toppings to put on these. Chili, ranch dressing, melted cheese sauce that is not really cheese but some weird stuff that comes out of a can. Oh! and I don't want to forget one of the very favorites! Fried cheese!!!!! And tons of sodas and gatorades and bottled water....always made me cringe to see the garbage cans overflowing with the aluminum and plastic. Like, why couldn't we sell cups of ice water? I would leave those evenings of " volunteering " in the concession stand with such a heady aroma of pickles and grease clinging to every exposed part!!!! Sorry to be so graphic..but what a sorry start to a day! My morning ritual is a cup of coffee with 1/2 cup silk in it, and the newspaper! (newspaper---very important!) Then a yogurt and some fruit and my vitamins and a small glass of kombucha tea. I've been copying your recipes from this site like mad! and I've been enjoying all the discussion! so glad to be here.
