Guest guest
I just wanted to introduce myself oh and I guess add what I have for breakfast. I live in upstate NY with my DH and 3 boys ( a soon to be 5 yo, 3 yo and a soon to be 1 yo). The oldest and the youngest birthdays are a day apart. I think last years birthday party put me into labor! Anyways I was a mostly vegetarian (ate some fish) when I met my dh about 8 years ago. Dietary/Nutritional wise I was a poor one. I didn't know what I know now. A couple of weeks ago my dh, who always reads investment books, read the " China Study " . I don't know how he came across it but he decided to go vegetarian. This was fine with me since I had been trying to cut back on our meat consumption. Not to mention all the weird things that are happening with animals. The kids have been mostly eating vegetarian. Thankfully they pretty much eat everything. Although we are going through a " hate " vegetable phase. I have to admit I have kind of embellished the description of what they are eating when they ask for fear they won't try something. Like I made Kentucky fried tofu and told them it was chicken fried tofu. Bad I know but they ate it and asked for more. I am loving the recipes I've been reading and cannot wait to try them. Breakfast during the week in winter is usually a hot cereal with dried fruit, blueberries, cinnamon, vanilla and soy milk. In the summer it's usually a dry cereal and lots of fresh fruit. Coffee and tomato juice. On the weekends I try to make a big breakfast. Usually waffles, pancakes, scrambled tofu, boca breakfast links, toast, muffins...stuff that takes longer. Guest guest
-Welcome Debra, So nice to have you in the group. We did the same little word games with our children to get them to try different foods. I remember after a sleep over and seeing it advertized on tv the kids wanted *Hamburger Helper or Rice-a-Roni. I experimented until I was able to make a *taste and look alike*..They couldn't tell the difference. Diversion is the name of the game in my opinion. A good dinner table conversation will take their minds off what they are eating. Congratulations to you and your husband for setting such good examples. Sending smiles and hugs to you from Colorado Deanna -- In , " debra " <carrottop638 wrote: > > I just wanted to introduce myself
