Ala Thel Dala (Devilled Potatoes) 3/4 pound potatoes, boiled, peel and dice them 1/2 Tbl. chili powder 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper 2 Tbls. vegetable oil or ghee (she uses ghee) 1 onion, cut in half and then cut in skiny moons 5 or 6 curry leaves (optional) or 1/2 tsp. curry powder (optional) little of salt Heat oil in a frying pan and add onions and curry leaves. When onions are almost soft lower fire and add chili powder, crushed pepper, turmeric and fry up for a few minutes. Now add the potatoes and cook for a few minutes, about 4 minutes.
