Thank you for all the suggestions. I did try Payless, and they have

real leather. I will look into the other links, but I was wondering

about dancer's rosin?

His teacher is REALLY flexible and understanding. She just wants him

safe on a slippery stage. I don't think she would go for bare feet, but

I don't know what dancer's rosin is? I think you said this could be on

his socks? That may be ideal... I haven't danced since I was 5, so I

don't know anything about any of this. Could you please tell me more

about the rosin?

Thank you.

It's powdered tree sap, basically. You'd have to go to a professional dance

store/website to get it. It's pretty cheap: a few dollars. I don't know for

certain, but the rosin that gymnasts use on the bars might be the same (or

similar), and it might be easier for you to find at a sporting goods store where

you are....or ask the coach at your local high school.

BTW, if your ballet teacher has never heard of rosin, I'd wonder about her

training! Ask her first before you start trying to track it down yourself.

You may be able to get rosin from a music store too. My son takes violin

lessons and has to use rosin on the horse hairs on his bow.
