Hi Lynda,

Do you mean coconut oil?

I've been suffering from very dry skin/eczema, especially this time

of year (fall/early winter) for a long long time. It does run in my

family. My maternal grandmother had terrible skin, especially when

she got older. My mother has dry skin, too.

Recently I've been trying to use coconut oil. Problem is, my husband

doesn't like it when I use it to saute, etc. Any other ideas for

adding it to the diet on a regular basis? I don't think I don't

necessarily want to increase my over-all fat intake and I don't just

want to spoon it in, but I'm willing to do that if it will help!

What do you think?

Thanks, Tracy

You can rub the oil (coconut, olive, whatever) directly onto your skin, or bathe

in it. That way, you don't have to ingest the oil.

Also, drink at least twice as much water as you usually do. That's usually

the first thing to try for just about anything!

My middle child has eczema that gets worse with exposure to heat, cold, or

wind, and also has dry skin. Knowing nothing about our diet, my pharmacist

said that he thinks it is a lack of omega-3 and recommended a supplement and

application flax seed oil.

Hi, one of the nicest ways is use coconut cream or milk as a base for a

curry, it is very nice but coconut is fattening, I would suggest drink

at least 8 glasses of water or more, eat plenty of raw, esp fruit and

this will improve your skin, the main reason most people get dry skin is

because of eating too many cooked and processed foods(esp in winter) and

not enough raw fruits and Veg's
