Guest guest
From Katie: > Do use a particular brand of soybeans? I remember reading >that " Laura " soybeans were better for making soymilk. I've been using organic soybeans from my local HFS. I received 10 lbs. of Laura's beans with the appliance. As the whole thing was so new to me then, I can't really say if Laura's is any better or not over the HFS. I do know there seems to be some question as to whether or not Laura's is organic. Also, with postage, Laura's gets a bit pricey. I get organic soybeans for about $1.35/lb. Just yesterday, I made two quarts of chocolate soymilk (using cocoa). I'm adding seltzer to it for a wonderful vegan eggcream! Yum!! And today I'm going to use some of the chocolate soymilk to make a chocolate ice cream (from " Vice Cream " with cashews) so I can have a deliciously guilt-free Vice Cream Soda!
