Guest guest
Hello, Does anyone have a recipe for vegan brownies? I just tried to adapt a non-vegan one and they came out *terrible*. Thanks! Guest guest
Renee, I did a search on the post punk kitchen web site and found this recipe: http://www.theppk.com/recipes/dbrecipes/index.php?RecipeID=161 I have not made these. I have made several other recipes from the site and the book which were all great. One was the banana cake and the other was a waffle recipe. I made her seitan from the book. All the recipes are Vegan. Enjoy, Debra M. Love cheap thrills? Enjoy PC-to-Phone calls to 30+ countries for just 2¢/min with Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
A friend, who's children have milk allergies, say that Duncan Hines has just started adding milk products to their cake mixes. How sad for those wanting to avoid it. Guest guest
to all of their cake mixes? maybe we could write to them. It could be possible that they don't understand the market that they have with vegans and others avoiding dairy. Guest guest
My friend said that the new stock has it in all mixes. If you can find some store that has older stock, you may still find some without milk product in it. She said that she has found that Great Value(Wal-Mart Brand) Cake mixes in the south East united states has no milk products at present. She said that the Great Value Brand whole wheat bread here in Alabama has no milk products in it, but her sister says the Great Value Brand of WW Bread in North Carolina has milk product in it. She says that sometimes they can find Oreo cookies without milk products in them and yet other times there are milk products in them. Sometimes the seasonal varieties are made in different bakeries. It is like there is no continuity in even the same brand names. It depends on which factory made it and their recipe. Sad isn't it. Guest guest
I'm usually a lurker, but I have to say that the cookbook from theppk.com website (since someone brought it up) is wonderful! It has replace Vive Le Vegan! as my new fave. The name is Vegan with a Vengeance and everything I've made (which is about everything in the book) has turned out so well that people beg me for the recipes. They are also easy to play with and make your own. Most of the recipes are pretty quick and not a lot of hard to find ingredients. Linda http://triballife.net/ Natural products for sentient beings.
