Guest guest
Yesterday, I attended a " How to Eliminate Sickness " seminar by Mr. Malkmus, founder of the Hallelujah Diet. I am sold on the idea that we are living organisms that are made of living cells and therefore we should be eating more " living " foods. I am a vegan but need serious help in transitioning me and my family, who are also vegans, to a mostly raw food diet. Hallelujah Acres sells a cookbook by Rhonda Malkmus that I could buy, but I was wondering if there were some other raw food cookbooks that you have used and have found the recipes tasty. I especially need help with breakfast and dinner ideas. Thanks!!
Guest guest
Hello there, I like to make a raw " porridge " for breakfast by mixing ground flaxseed meal (you can buy this at the health food store or grind your own) with warm water and a pinch of salt. Top it with sliced bananas and drizzle with maple syrup. It doesn't take much to fill you up, and it provides tons of EFA's. When I was raw, I found that I only craved this once a week or so (good thing cause it's kind of expensive!). The rest of the time I had fresh fruit smoothies and nuts for breakfast. There is a little book called, " Raw Family " by Victoria and Igor Boutenko that you might find helpful. It is about 3/4 info and personal testimonial (of transitioning a family to raw/living foods) and 1/4 recipes. I used it when I first became a raw foodist because the recipes were easy and most didn't require lots of equipment (dehydrators, etc) like some other raw cookbooks. Plus it is inspiring to see how an entire family made the transition together. Here is the family's website: http://www.rawfamily.com/ Also, you can find tons of recipes at living-foods.com. Cheers, Maria admartin5 wrote: Yesterday, I attended a " How to Eliminate Sickness " seminar by Mr. Malkmus, founder of the Hallelujah Diet.
