Guest guest
the sugar content of carrot is certainly lower than apple. to be honest my main concern would be the high doses of vitamin a she may be receiving, as well as nitrates. maybe dilute it a bit at a time with water until it's down to 1:1? Big difference. The B vitamins and C are water based and processed and excreted through the kidneys. A, D and E are oil based and harder for the body to excrete. Beta carotene avoids this as any extra A isn't absorbed to start with but excreted in the " other " manner.
Guest guest
Thanks for interesting discussion -- reminded me that our yearling is due to start brushing! I had the benefit of having a wonderful and wacky dentist who was also a naturopath and accupunturist. He taught me a different way of brushing -- and said that flossing is actually bad for you (use Stim-u-dents instead) because it is like a little saw on your gums. And cleaning wears down the enamel so don't do it. He thought it was wonderful that I was vegan. He did " vega " testing on me to see if I was reacting to mercury amalgams already in my teeth. Sadly, he passed away this year, so I can't refer you to him. Here in Canada there is a website called www.greendirectory.ca where you can find a dentist with " natural " inclinations -- and many other natural/environmental services. The thinking here is that many of us on this list would not go to just any restaurant, any grocery store or any doctor -- so same deal with dentistry. ~Paul
