Bryanna Clark Grogan discusses the Price foundation and their not so

truthful manipualtion of the research on her website.

http://www.bryannaclarkgrogan.com/page/page/3476771.htm#14

She gives her answers to many anti-soy statements. She also talks

about how Mercola is affiliated with Price. This surprises many

breastfeeding advocates as he apparently recommends bf then aligns

himself with an antibf group.

Anyway, hope the link helps.

you know, i got the feeling they weren't exactly pro-bf too. this is the

pregnancy/nursing diet they recommend. pretty incredible! just looking at

it makes me gag. below it is the FAQs about their homemade liver formula

(double gag!).

Diet for Pregnant and Nursing Mothers

Cod Liver Oil<http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/clarifications.html>to

supply 20,000 IU vitamin A and 2000 IU vitamin D per day

1 quart (or 32 ounces) whole milk daily, preferably raw and from pasture-fed

cows (learn more about raw milk on our website, A Campaign for Real Milk,

www.realmilk.com)

4 tablespoons butter

preferably from pasture-fed cows

2 or more eggs daily, preferably from pastured

chickens<http://www.westonaprice.org/farming/realeggs.html>

Additional egg yolks daily, added to smoothies, salad dressings, scrambled

eggs, etc.

3-4 ounces fresh liver, once or twice per week (If you have been told to

avoid liver for fear of getting " too much Vitamin A, " be sure to read Vitamin

A Saga <http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/vitaminasaga.html>)

Fresh seafood, 2-4 times per week, particularly wild salmon, shellfish and

fish eggs

Fresh beef <http://www.westonaprice.org/mythstruths/mtbeef.html> or lamb

daily, always consumed with the fat

Oily fish or lard <http://www.westonaprice.org/motherlinda/lard.html> daily,

for vitamin D<http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/vitamindmiracle.html>

2 tablespoons coconut

oil<http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/coconut_oil.html>daily,

used in cooking or smoothies, etc.

Lacto-fermented

<http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/lacto.html>condiments and

beverages

Bone broths <http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/broth.html> used in

soups, stews and sauces

Soaked whole grains <http://www.westonaprice.org/foodfeatures/be_kind.html>

I stopped reading this after the bit about how vegetarian mothers should use

formula... That's nothing but unbelievable. With all the information out there

these days, how on earth could someone justify something like that? I'd figure

that being a human baby and all, they'd need *human* milk. Just kind of seems

logical to me.

Hey, that's cool- fruits and vegetables are the *last* thing on the list. And my

word- fat, anyone? Egg yolks in smoothies- salmonella for the baby? I wonder how

my poor little deprived vegetarian babies are so healthy? Must just be the

exception. Everyone else on this board has scrawny, sickly kids, though. Right?

Blah.

Ok. That diet is completely revolting. Even if you aren't vegetarian, the fat

consumed is sure to get your arteries hardening in no time. Gross!!

I told my sister about this. She's not a vegetarian. She and her husband are

planning on having a baby in the next few years. She was absolutely disgusted.

My mom too, also not a vegetarian. Who on earth actually does this, and how do

they deliver the 65 lb. baby?
