they are PUL, which is petroleum-based, and plenty of people think petroleum

is not vegan. but as far as the actual content of the diaper, it's just

cotton fleece, etc., no lanolin or wool, so they are vegan as far as that.

well, like we've been saying in the other discussion, you basically have

four options. 1) disposables, whether regular or

" environmentally-friendly. " 2) wool covers with inserts. 3) PUL covers

with inserts. 4) elimination communication/natural infant hygeine, etc. (in

which case as far as i know you still have to put a diaper on the kid for

long trips, sleeping at night, etc.) i guess there's also the option

someone else mentioned of making your own non-wool, but still fabric, covers

out of old sweaters, which i think is a valuable option, or buying/making

super thick fleece covers, which i've never seen. so i guess it depends on

where your priorities lie. for us, we've already taken what some would

consider extreme steps to make our footprint on the earth lighter. we can't

condone animal cruelty in any form. our rule has always been, if we know

about it, and there's an alternative, we have no excuse to not use the

alternative. therefore we use PUL, not wool. but all of our PUL diapers

are second-hand, and as someone else pointed out, wool isn't actually very

environmentally-friendly. so! that's how it worked out for us. you just

have to weigh the benefits and drawbacks for your own family and decide

what's best for YOU.
