Guest guest
I saw that this morning as well. I was so angry. Especially because the producer contacted me a few weeks ago about this piece. She told me that I wouldn't be the type of person they were looking for since I didn't have concerns about my son's vegan diet, and being vegan for 21 yrs. They were looking for parents that had concerns. She assured me that they had an expert on veg. diets to talk about the subject. Well, that was a joke. That woman was not even close to being knowlegable about the subject. She didn't mention all the vitamins and minerals in a plant based diet. I encourage everyone to write and call the Today show. Applaud them for thinking mentioning the subject, and let them know how much more accurate info. is available. As well as some family who eats fish and calls themselves vegetarian. Sorry for the rant! Laura in MD jillben2005 writes: Ugh...I just saw a pretty bad segment on the Today Show about vegetarianism. It focused on how vegetarians need to be REALLY careful to get all of their vitamins/minerals. It's sad because it gives people the idea that as long as they are eating meat then they are set with all of their nutrients. So sad that I had to write to them requesting more balance in their shows:(

Guest guest
?? Meat eaters need to be even more careful than vegetarians! They're not getting all the small things we get from eating so many fruits, vegetables, and grains. They're full on protein and they don't have room for any good stuff! How dumb!!! Guest guest
Boy I'm glad I don't get up early! Or watch TV! All these big companies are in cahoots with each other, though. It's expected. Remember when the " beef " industry sued (or tried to sue, I don't remember) Oprah Winfrey when she said something bad about hamburgers? They're trying to present an option without hacking off the meat companies. Kadee Sedtal, conspiracy theorist VAP79 wrote: I saw that this morning as well. I was so angry. Guest guest
dear group, i am so thankful for these postings.you know it is so strange that i looked in my email and saw this.now lets look at this big picture, vegetarianism vs meat eaters.now i am a vegan and i have been this way for about 6 years .so i will speak on my point as a vegan,i am 36 years old i don't have any health problems at all.i have a brother who is 34 and he has had high blood pressure for years.what could you possibly be missing from not eating meat ?let's see! high blood pressure, colon cancer, obesity, tumors ,breast cancer , high cholesterol, mad cow disease.etc.....as we get older our bodies don't even need as much protein as people think, and if you do need protein eat your veggies ,legumes, and so on. what does the today show know about diet anyway.anybody should know you can get all you need from eating your fruits, grains nuts and veggies.food for thought-why is it we are made to believe that milk keeps the bones strong.O.k you drink milk your whole life and turn 80 years old and you have a bad fall why do your bones break so easy? I thought milk did the body good .If you want strong bones ,muscles and great vigor just eat a lot of broccoli it's filled with calcium.may the Lord bless Kadee M <abbey_road3012 wrote: ??
