i'm still suffering from tiredness over 2yrs after having my daughter.

My boyfriend & i take turns to put her to bed and the nights that i do

it, i fall asleep at 9/9.30pm. I had about 7 or 8 blood tests done

recently (b12, glucose, organs, immune system, cant remember the rest)

and all were fine except the ferritin. it came back at 14! i was told

that this is really low, even though my doctor said that my

haemaglobin was fine?! both my homoeopath and my doc said that i need

a high dose supplement and suggested ferrograd as i couldn't find a

high dose product in my local healthfood shop. which i have started

taking, the main problem is it rips my stomach apart & is giving

diarrhoea which is odd considering iron supplements usually give

people constipation.

does anyone have any suggestions? because i am really confused

thanks

Una

Maybe you could try breaking up the supplement? Take 1/3 at breakfast, then 1/3

at lunch, etc. The lower dose might not send your body into a tizzy, and you'd

still be getting the same total amount each day.

There is a perscription iron pill that is very easy on the stomach and most

folks don't have side effects. I can't remember the name of it, but your doctor

should know and be able to prescribe it to you. Meanwhile add lots of iron

rich foods to your diet. You need to take Vit. C to help absorb the Iron. Most

pills include both.

Click on this link and read all the way to the bottom. There are some great

charts of vegetarian foods high in iron.

My daughter's 28 months and my husband and I put her to bed around 8

and if we make it to 10 (without caffeine) it's a minor miracle.

Una,

I agree with some others who have posted. You might have a problem with iron

absorption.

Germanium supplement is a great thing to take for this.

Also try some digestive enzymes. Lots of vegan option to choose from.

does anyone have any suggestions?

The digestive enzymes help to break down food that might not always be

digested well by some systems. So, nutrients could be better absorbed. B 12

might

help. As well as a good multi vitamin. Also my belief is the amount and the

quality of water that you drink is another key piece of the puzzle. Water

contains oxygen, and if we are dehydrated, we do not function at optimal levels.

That includes sluggishness and tiredness, lack of mental clarity, plus a

whole other host of issues.

Does that make sense to you?

Try it for a month and see what you notice. Also look at your consumption of

green leafy veggies and add a bit of raw foods to your diet.

Do what feels right to you.

Feel free to email me and let me know how it's working.

Peace,

Laura

Yes that does, thank you so much for the suggestion. so do you think i should

take digestive enzymes daily in addition to a multivitamin and b12 daily? But

the water suggestion i know is true. thanks for your comment
