Guest guest
Hello everyone. I just had a question to ask of anyone because I am very curious now. I am vegan and have been using Smart Blance, organice buttery spread which states all over the packaging it's vegan, including the ingredients. Now, from what I have heard and read and come across online, Earth Balance is the one who puts out the vegan version of my " butter " , does this make sense. Everyone who uses this particular spread is using the one with the Earth Balance packaging. Mine has Smart Balance packaging. I can not find an exact version of my packaging or " butter " online anywhere, nor does anyone seem to use it. Am I the only one (not really, I know [] )? The only reason it is of any concern to me now is because I want to know now where my " butter " is coming from and why it's not common. I know, not a very important issue, but my curiosity has the best of me now. Thanks to anyone who can offer any insight...silly me . Guest guest
Smart Balance Regular Spread is not vegan, but Smart Balance Light Spread is Vegan. I use the Smart Balance Light Spread with Flax Seed Oil in it all the time and it is definitely vegan, if that is a concern of yours. This may be where your confusion on this product may lie. We LOVE the taste all the Smart Balance products. We buy their Spray liquid Smart Balance(great to use on your corn on the cob), their cooking oil, shortening and pan spray. No transfat in these products either, which is another reason we choose them. Enjoy, Judy - tarresnom1 Monday, November 27, 2006 10:19 AM Earth Balance...Smart Balance? Hello everyone. Guest guest
We use Earth Balance. I didn't think Smart Balance was vegan. This website (http://www.smartbalance.com/product.html#) indicated some of the ingredients used are whey, lactic acid (which may or may not be derived from dairy) and fish. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I don't know if Smart Balance and Earth Balance are the same company or not. I've wondered myself, but never took the time to check. The original Smart Balance is not vegan. It was only last week that I happened to notice in our local grocery store has the organic, vegan version next to their original, non vegan version. --- tarresnom1 <dalia_sutton wrote: > > Hello everyone. Guest guest
Thank you so much for responding. I seriously thought I was going insane because both websites did not have my product listed. I started to wonder where in the world (or who in the world) was putting it out. [] Silly me! Anyway, I get mine at my local commissary on the AF base near my home. Although I cannot find it at either of the health food stores here or regular grocery stores either. Thanks again...
