Guest guest
Hi, HAPPY NEW YEAR, everybody! I'm doing another project for VRG (http://www.vrg.org) and am interested in researching into different summer camps that are specifically for vegetarians or are truly vegetarian friendly. I'm looking for camps both in US and internationally. Thanks, You can also e-mail me Tinydasha
Guest guest
My daughter has attended Camp Chi in Lake Delton, WI for part of the last few summers. Very veg friendly (and kosher). http://www.campchi.com/ tinydasha <TinyDasha wrote: Hi, HAPPY NEW YEAR, everybody! Guest guest
Weird! I went to Camp Chi. Now I have to look at it in this totally new light. Thanks for the information and this morning of coincidences. Marla PS - Robin, I notice that you live in the Chicago area, too. If you caught what I wrote to Missie on the HypnoBirthing thread, the same goes to you about the Chicago Vegan Family Network. > My daughter has attended Camp Chi in Lake Delton, WI for part of the last few > summers. Guest guest
That's funny, I was an Oconomoc camper. Both camps have many second generation campers. Camp Chi is more inclusionary than they used to be. We live in West Rogers Park. Marla Rose <marla wrote: Weird! I went to Camp Chi. Now I have to look at it in this totally new light. Guest guest
We went to a fantastic " family camp " (they also do just kids, in a different section of the camp) in Haliburton, Ontario. The family camp is similar to kids' summer camp but the parents go too, and each family gets a cabin. They prepare all the meals and can accommodate just about any special diet -- their kitchen is peanut free and they were vegetarian and vegan-friendly. The food was fantastic, and they also had great big bowls of fresh fruit and things set out 24 hours a day in the dining room (and the little 24-hour fridge was always stocked with soy milk). https://www.ymca-wanakita.on.ca Heather tinydasha wrote: > > Hi, > > HAPPY NEW YEAR, everybody! > > I'm doing another project for VRG (http://www.vrg.org > <http://www.vrg.org>) and am > interested in researching into different summer camps that are > specifically for vegetarians or are truly vegetarian friendly. Guest guest
Hi, I just repsonded to your request " privately " but thought other might be interested. New Frenda Youth Camp in Port Carling, Ontario is a vegetarian camp run by the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In fact, any SDA camp will probably be vegetarian although I am not 100% sure. I worked at Frenda for 4 years at it was vegetarian (not vegan). Cheers, Paula (I'm new but I'll introduce myself later!) , " tinydasha " <TinyDasha wrote: > > Hi, > > HAPPY NEW YEAR, everybody! > > I'm doing another project for VRG (http://www.vrg.org) and am > interested in researching into different summer camps that are > specifically for vegetarians or are truly vegetarian friendly.
