Guest guest
And here I was thinking I was doing good by paying the extra bucks to get free-range eggs! I'm really ticked. I'll check out those links that was included, hopefully I can find a CSA here. This will be a tough sell to the husband but oh well. Speaking of husband, he is not comfortable with the little bit of blood found in some " free- range " eggs and quite frankly I have to work a little bit to get past it myself. What do you know about that? I read somewhere online that it is normal (which I assumed) and that the reason the factory farm eggs don't have it is because they somehow screen their eggs for it. AND PUS IN MILK?!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG. I am sick. Blech, eeeayaooe, ach! (how do you spell those kinds of sounds anyway?). So I now will not drink milk again, thank you for helping me get back to that side of the fence. But CHEESE, oh no - I love cheese. I don't think we can afford to buy cheese that doesn't have pus in it. What will I do?! I haven't tasted the vegan cheeses lately, have they improved in the last five years or so? Guest guest
We tried some soy cheese not long ago and it really did taste good. They only had cheddar flavor though. It was great on grilled cheese sandwiches. It melts differently but it's not a bad taste or texture at all. hilbro <hilbro wrote: And here I was thinking I was doing good by paying the extra bucks to get free-range eggs! I'm really ticked. Guest guest
Try Follow Your Heart Soy Cheese. It has no casein. It melts like cheese and taste MMM GOOD! My favorite flavor especially for pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches is mozzarella. Other flavors are monterey jack, cheddar, and nacho. - hilbro Monday, January 22, 2007 10:18 PM Re: Thanks for help with nutrition - PUS IN MILK?! Guest guest
follow your heart vegan gourmet makes an excellent, melt-able cheese. it's the only one i find edible. i put it on sandwiches and pizza and i even made a respectable fondue with it! cheese is nasty stuff. a lot of it is not even vegetarian (rennet). chandelle' On 1/22/07, hilbro <hilbro wrote: > > And here I was thinking I was doing good by paying the extra bucks > to get free-range eggs! Guest guest
Do you think they'll have that at Whole Foods? We've only tried the kind they had at the commissary, I forgot what brand that was. Would be very good to have once again the massive amounts of cheese I used to eat but don't anymore because of the pus thing. Not that we don't occasionally have cheese but still, it'd be nice to be able to put it on everything again, pus free! (that pus thing really grossed me out, if you can't tell!) admartin5 wrote: Try Follow Your Heart Soy Cheese. It has no casein. It melts like cheese and taste MMM GOOD! Guest guest
The Whole Foods that I go to (in Northern CA) carries Follow Your Heart Cheese. If the one you go to doesn't carry it, you can make a request. , Kadee M <abbey_road3012 wrote: > > Do you think they'll have that at Whole Foods?
