Guest guest
I ate a blood orange today (flippin' good, go buy one and eat it... they're even better than normal oranges). I tore the peel into little pieces and put it in a small pot with about two cups of water. I added about 1/4 tsp. each of cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract and then stirred it. We have a gas stove so I put it on the super lowest flame possible. In about 15 minutes the whole house smells wonderful!! And no icky chemicals or crazy propellants. You could use a potpourri heater things or probably even a Crock Pot. I'm so proud of myself. Jeff will be so pleased when he comes home. Our house usually smells like our male mice... not a good smell. So this is very nice. Kadee Sedtal Brain: " Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering? Guest guest
cool! i'm a scent freak. we have about a thousand soy candles in the house and we have nag champa incense going regularly. i lived for a year without being able to smell or taste anything and now my sense of smell, and my need for good smells, is super intense. do you think you could do this cooking over a regular electric burner? Guest guest
I buy an air freshener by Mia Rose that is just citrus; no chemicals or propellants. Guest guest
I don't know how it would work on an electric burner... you could sure try it, and if nothing else just add more water so it doesn't evaporate as quickly. It was so nice to smell coming down the stairs!! We never use spray air fresheners or even candles... the flame retardant in the wicks is bad for our pet rodents so we don't burn them. So it's nice to have this going so our house smells nice. chandelle' <earthmother213 wrote: cool! i'm a scent freak. we have about a thousand soy candles in the house and we have nag champa incense going regularly. i lived for a year without being able to smell or taste anything and now my sense of smell, and my need for good smells, is super intense. do you think you could do this cooking over a regular electric burner?
