Guest guest
What's the best way to make a clothes line? I have a small back yard and want to line dry our clothes when the weather gets warmer instead of using the dryer. Thanks for any and all advice! Guest guest
We use an umbrella Clothes line. They are great and take up very little space and doesn't draw a lot of attention. We love ours. I picked it up at an Ace Hardware Store. Here is what they look like. http://www.redhillgeneralstore.com/A28843.htm or http://www.breezecatcher.com/ or http://housewares.hardwarestore.com/37-186-outdoor-clothes-dryers-/sunline-umbre\ lla-clothes-dryer-213603.aspx?iorb=4764 I put mine up beside my patio and just set clothes on our bench seat that surrounds the patio and hand them up. Spinning it around as needed. I often put our bath towels out to dry after showers, and they are dry in no time at all. Best of all it is conventient and the whole neighborhood doesn't get a look at all of your laundry. My MIL got me started with this kind and I wouldn't have any other kind. You can either buy the base part or stand it in one of those stands for the Market place Umbrella's which is what we have done. - Jess Veg Parents Thursday, February 22, 2007 12:08 PM ] Clothes Line What's the best way to make a clothes line? Guest guest
You're welcome. They will close up when not using if you wish, but I just leave mine open. I meant to write below that you can either BURY the base that comes with it in concrete in the ground or just place it in one of those very heavy bases for those Market Umbrella. Guest guest
Great planet-saving idea! Check also CAMPING SUPPLY section of stores ... we picked up a " camping clothes line " which is like a spool with retractable string. String up one or more over your bath tub for indoor drying! ~Paul Jess wrote: > > > What's the best way to make a clothes line?
