Guest guest
Hello! I'm new to this group and relatively new to being vegetarian. Does anyone know of vegan-friendly restaurants in the Chicago south suburbs? I'm going to be in Homewood for the weekend (to visit my mom) and in search of alternatives to my usual Chinese place ( " Eat Rice " ). Thanks! --Kathy
Guest guest
I am a north sider, but I do have one suggestion. There is a family run, local chain called Leonas. They are very veg friendly (and have a few organics, too). I am sure that you can find one near you. kyanoff <kyanoff wrote: Hello! I'm new to this group and relatively new to being vegetarian. Guest guest
Going to VegChicago.com or VegIllinois.com would be helpful for you. I have vegan friends in Homewood and they know all the tricks, but I wasn't sure if you were going to be in town this weekend or another one, so I didn't contact her. If you still have time and would like the info, though, I'd be happy to get in touch. Marla Rose > Hello! Guest guest
Thanks for the tips! Homewood is WAY south (near I-80), but I'll keep that list for future reference when I'm in the Chicago area. Funny that you mention Leonas, Robin-- there is one right in Homewood! I would not have tried it on my own, as I remember the greasy family restaurant that used to be there when I was growing up. --Kathy , " Missie Ward " <mszzzi wrote: > > How far south?
