Guest guest
an important issue for *dads* too ... Speaking of this, anyone found alternatives to plastic sippy cups? I have never seen one that wasn't plastic. I try to give our todler alternatives to plastic whenever possible. Enamel, glass, etc. But they don't have lids and they spill. ~Paul Tricia McElwee wrote: > > > > > FYI moms. > > Study: popular baby bottles may be toxic - Feb. 27, 2007 (National) > cbs5.com - Report: Plastic Baby Bottles Leach Toxic Chemical (Bay Area) > Study Warns Of Plastic Baby Bottle Safety - News (Bay Area) > OAKLAND: Ross McGowan Talks With Environmental Health Advocate And > Attorney Rachel Gibson And SF General Physician Cynthia Li About Baby > Bottle Safety
Guest guest
Paul asked about alternatives to plastic sippy cups. This might not be exactly what you had in mind, but for an older toddler or child, we like SIGG bottles. They're aluminum, but since they're not heated the way a pan is, I don't think there's any concern about ingestion of the metal. (Anyone have any info on that?) They've got .3L, .4L, and .6L sizes with kid-friendly decorations. We never used the smallest bottles, where the domed cap doubles as a cup, but by 4 or 5 years old a child can handle the " active bottle top " , which requires pressure from your mouth to release the liquid....so, it's spill-proof. Not the only source, but the one we've used: http://www.swissknifeshop.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.15/.f?c1=g5 & source=Sigg_Switzer\ land & kw=ad2 The Swiss Knife Shop offers free shipping, but I'm not sure if that includes Canada too or only the U.S. Liz

Guest guest
I sell (sorry to promote my business, but the reason I sell them is because I found they work really well) Klean Kanteen sippy cups. See here http://www.triballife.net/store/index.php?main_page=index & cPath=30_92 I fell in love with Klean Kanteens years ago so when I started my business last year I had to stock them. My kids never used sippy cups (they learned to drink out of glass and we never had them break one and they learn not to spill), but I'm glad that there is an alternative. As a side note, another wonderful thing about the stainless steel option is no BPA (Sigg bottles have been found to have BPA becaue they are alumininum and have a coating on the inside). I just found this out from Organic Consumers Organization. Hope you find something that works for you! Guest guest
Since Linda is too polite to promote her business please let me offer an unsolicited testimony to say that I just received two stainless steel waterbottles from Tribal Life. One for our daughter and one for my wife. Very impressed with quality, price, ease of ordering. At first the bottles appeared to have some sort of non-stick lining. Linda quickly sent me an email FAZ which explains, among other things, that it is actually the way the steel is finished, not a lining. So here's to healthy sipping -- so glad my little one won't have to drink from plastic anymore -- my only regret that I did not order two as one sippy bottle may get lost. I also would recommend the all-steel cap as an accessory. ~Paul Linda Evans wrote: > > I sell (sorry to promote my business, but the reason I > sell them is because I found they work really well) > Klean Kanteen sippy cups. > > See here > > http://www.triballife.net/store/index.php?main_page=index & cPath=30_92 > <http://www.triballife.net/store/index.php?main_page=index & cPath=30_92> [. . .] > > Speaking of this, anyone found alternatives to > > plastic sippy cups? > > I have never seen one that wasn't plastic. Guest guest
Forgot to mention -- for shoppers in Canada, you will find Linda charges very reasonable shipping. My complaint is that the little steel bottle is so attractive my wife wanted one for herself soon as she saw it! ~P Paul Falvo wrote: > > > Since Linda is too polite to promote her business please let me offer an > unsolicited testimony to say that I just received two stainless steel > waterbottles from Tribal Life.
