Guest guest
Hi Claire and All, Am brand new on vegparents. We have two lifetime vegan sons, ages 12 and 8, I recommend the following vegan cookbooks as GREAT for vegan families: " Tofu Cookery " , by Louise Hagler " Simply Vegan " , by Debra Wasserman " American Vegetarian Cookbook " , by Marilyn Diamond " The Whole Soy Cookbook " , by Patricia Greenberg " Vegan Family Favorites " , by Erin Pavlina Hope that's helpful! Stick to it--gets easier and easier! Regards from Brazil, Lynnea Claire <ccteam42 wrote: Hi everyone. I was hoping for a little help - 2 days into being vegan and I have already slipped. Not intentionally, I have just noticed that the sunflower margerine I bought has buttermilk in it. Also without thinking, got a yoghurt out of the fridge for DS who is the one I wanted to try veganism for to see if it improved his health. These 2 problems I can rectify, but with renewed resolve, can anyone recommend a good vegan baby/toddler cookbook or website? I have 'Baby & Child Vegetarian Recipes' by Carol Timperley which is very good and does have some vegan recipes in but would love some more ideas. Thanks Claire Building a website is a piece of cake. Small Business gives you all the tools to get online.
Guest guest
A friend of mine just gave me " Better than Peanutbutter and Jelly " it's a vegetarian cookbook, but it does have vegan options in it, and we substitute vegan versions of things in the vegetarian recipes anyway. I also have Vegan With A Vengence and Viva La Vegan, though I think the other maybe In the Garden of Vegan is supposed to be better (I couldn't recall which, but I do like the one I have). I checked out Planet Vegan from the library, and it is on my 'must buy' list. Missie On 5/18/07, Lynnea Hansen Nascimento <lynnea_hansen wrote: > > Hi Claire and All, > Am brand new on vegparents. Guest guest
In addition to the books mentioned, I would add: Simply Natural Baby Food - Cathe Olson This one is not a cookbook, but a great resource to have on hand: New Vegetarian Baby - Yntema and Beard There are two chapters on foods and sample menus with some recipes to help get you started. Neither are exclusively vegan. Good luck
Guest guest
veggieworks is one of the best I've seen (it's a vegan restaurant that's been here for years) the recipes have many many options, especially for gluten or " mock " meats, great for kids who get into the dipping stage!
