Guest guest
I was in the grocery store and there was a group with a leader talking about healthy food choices...I do not know if it was a weight loss group or what, but he made a point of saying that yogurt is very bad for weight loss. He said " many people eat yogurt and cereal and loose nothing but muscle, my recommendation is to avoid yogurt all together. Cottage cheese is fine but no yogurt. WHAT! I know that yogurt is not a " weight loss tool " , but I have heard many studies about calcium and weight loss. Fat molecules stick to calcium in the waste etc. I can think of a dozen or so reasons why to eat yogurt. Does anyone have any insight? Guest guest
The only thing I can think of is that they tend to be high in sugar, one brand I think was 25-30g in the one serving. My mom and some friends get them, and many brands are no better than a candy bar. I have a favorite soy yogurt company I can only get through my food buying club/co-op that is only 6g of sugar. You have to look and see where they compare. I forget the numbers but I think it's a Tbsp of sugar per gram (maybe?). I eat sugar- free yogurt every day with a bit of granola and it fits in just fine with Weight Watchers. Jill

Guest guest
It's Wildwood brand. We get the plain and add fruit-only jelly (or fruit juice sweetened ones) to it (I believe the plain one has 0g sugar) but I think the fruit ones maybe have 6 or 9g very little in comparison to others.
