Guest guest Posted November 12, 2001 Report Share Posted November 12, 2001 i don't think any of these taste like liver. liver is liver. beans are beans but the texture and look etc are right on!!! ;-) we got this one from judy here on this list some time ago * Exported from MasterCook * Liverless Liver Pate Recipe By :CalciYum by David and Rachelle Bronfman Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Dairy Free Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 large carrot -- diced 1 cup cooked black beans or 14 oz canned black beans, rinsed and drained 2 tablespoons water 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 cup finely chopped onion 1/4 teaspoon salt Makes 1 1/2 cups If you love the taste of chopped liver, this bean and carrot spread is unbelievably close to the real thing. Serve on bread or crackers, warm or cold. Steam or boil carrots until soft. Set aside. In a food processor, puree beans and water to form a paste. Add carrots; process until well blended. In a nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, and cook until soft and browned. Stir in salt and bean mixture; cook 3 minutes or until heated through.
