Liverless Liver Pate

Recipe By :CalciYum by David and Rachelle Bronfman

Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00

Categories : Dairy Free

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

1 large carrot -- diced

1 cup cooked black beans

or 14 oz canned black beans, rinsed and drained

2 tablespoons water

1 tablespoon canola oil

1 cup finely chopped onion

1/4 teaspoon salt

Makes 1 1/2 cups

If you love the taste of chopped liver, this bean and carrot spread is

unbelievably close to the real thing. Serve on bread or crackers, warm or cold.

Steam or boil carrots until soft. Set aside.

In a food processor, puree beans and water to form a paste. Add carrots; process

until well blended.

In a nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, and cook until

soft and browned. Stir in salt and bean mixture; cook 3 minutes or until heated

through. Cool, then refrigerate until ready to serve.
