If you see a box of Ebly " tender wheat " at an import grocer or health food store, grab it. it's supposedly a lower carb alternative -- might be something diabetics could add to their diets. * Exported from MasterCook * Tomato and Tender Wheat Salad (Ebly) Recipe By :Bobbie at Creative Food Services, Ebly Wheat Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Grains Salads Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1/4 cup Ebly Tender Wheat -- (3 1/2 ounces dry) 4 tablespoons Extra Virgin olive oil 1 cup Diced Fresh Tomatoes 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar -- may double 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley 1 tablespoon Fresh Oregano 2 tablespoons Fresh Basil 1/2 cup Feta or Buffalo mozzarella crumbled Salt and Pepper -- to Taste 1/2 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice Blanch Tender wheat 15 - 20 minutes in salted boiling water. Drain and Cool.
