Guest guest
Oh my! That sounds like a truly unhealthful diet. It's no wonder you're feeling awful -- no protein! And probably too much sugar with the fruit juices. Remember, the mainstay of a vegetarian (vegan) diet is legumes and grains, not vegetables and fruits. There are several " how to go vegetarian " instruction pages on the internet. You know you're not doing it right if you're feeling worse instead of better. PETA McDougall etc. have instructions Sherry in Oregon At 12:09 PM 1/9/2006, you wrote: >Just really started as a vegetarian. Guest guest
Just " Google " the words " going vegetarian " and you'll find a huge list of places that will help you go veg healthfully. Don't go another day on your unhealthful diet, or you'll feel even worse. Sherry At 12:09 PM 1/9/2006, you wrote: >Just really started as a vegetarian. Guest guest
Hi Annette, I agree with a previous post that you need a more balanced diet to include protein, carbohydrates and fats - not just fruits and vegetables. What you may be feeling is part of a detox process. Your diet right now sounds similar to a diet one would do to detox (get rid of toxins in the body.) Did you just begin this liquid diet or did you just begin getting a reaction now? Are you drinking tomato juice? This can cause arthritis like symptoms in many people - especially if it is one of your main sources of nutrition right now. Try adding some solid foods to your diet and cut back on the juices and teas. It is important to continue drinking lot's of good water to clear out the system if you are detoxing. (showers important too) Feel well, Oran , Annette <abutler2000> wrote: > > let's try this again. I am having pains in the front of my legs. Feel like I have ran for miles. Also lots of cramps. Guest guest
Annette, if this is a drastic lifestyle change for you, your body is probably throwing off toxins right and left. If you are also not getting enough potassium to balance off the sodium in your system, that can cause cramps as well. You may want to try adding 1 or two baked potatoes to your daily fare. They are high in potassium, not bad for protein, and surprisingly high in Vitamin C. Large amounts of water will help too - try drinking an ounce of water for every two pounds of bodyweight (more if you're exercising heavily). I know that sounds like a lot (it's over a gallon for me!) but trust me, it makes a big difference! Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Add photos, events, holidays, whatever.
