Guest guest
I did a little online research, and discovered a few things. 1. You can purchase a vegetarian by Fantastic Foods. Listed ingredients are: DEHYDRATED VEGETABLES (ORGANIC ONIONS AND GARLIC), MUSHROOMS, ORGANIC POTATO STARCH, ORGANIC CORN STARCH, SEA SALT, YEAST EXTRACT, NATURAL FLAVORS, CARAMEL COLOR, ORGANIC EXPELLER PRESSED CANOLA OIL. It's very easy to make your own mix, and that way you can have better control over the nutrients and ingredients, especially cutting back on the sodium. I found this copy cat recipe for homemade dry onion soup mix. As you can tell from these ingredients, you would want to change them some to make it vegetarian. Also, for the mushroom component, you would want to add some dried, chopped mushrooms. Ingredients: 4 teaspoons instant beef bouillon granules 8 teaspoons dried minced onion 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon seasoned pepper Directions: Cut a 6-inch square of heavy duty foil. Place all ingredients in center of foil. Fold foil to make an airtight package. Label with date and contents. Store in a cool, dry place. Use within 6 months.
