Guest guest
My name is Donna and I live in Texas. I am 48 years old, married for 25 years and we have one 19 year old son who will be moving out on his own in two weeks. I am a paralegal and have worked in this profession for 22 years. I am a beginner vegetarian and wanted to join a site where I could get good advice on foods and meal planning as well as meet other people who were living this lifestyle. I am an avid animal lover and have four rescued feral cats who are sterlized, vaccinated and live with us. I also have one rescue doggie from the pound who is 13 now and I take in about every stray cat that happens upon my door. Donna

Guest guest
Hi to Donna and ALL the new members here! Our juno account has been bouncing some messages, so I'm glad I checked online tonight. It is so exciting to have all these posts from new members who are interested in losing or maintaining weight loss with a vegetarian diet! Donna, I'm 53 yrs old, and I live in Texas also. I have two sons, 20 and 18 yrs old, who will be moving out on their own in two weeks. I'm not really ready for it! I lost 27 lbs last year after a foot injury and re-committing to WW. I'm now struggling to maintain this loss, and thinking that maybe this time it really can be done. I love animals, too, and that is my main reason for wanting to finally completely do the veg thing I've been semi doing for years. Another big part is concern for the environment. In a way, having the boys move out is going to make it easier to accomplish my goal.....so I guess that is one good thing. I am SO not ready for them to move out, though! Guest guest
Paula it is nice to meet another Texan on board. I will be doing my grocery shopping today to start on my new adventure with veggie eating. I have about 80 pounds to loose and it is now or never for me. We will be looking for DS an apartment in the town he will be living in to go to the Fire Academy next week. Guest guest
Cat you will do find with the mama and kits. I only have two of the original babies and mama left due to the Coyote's coming into the City and killing our animals. These cats are former ferals so Mama and Tarby will not set foot inside the house, but Olive is a indoor cat 99 % of the time. I now stand guard at 5:00 a.m. so the outdoor cats can eat and then they go and hide in their sleeping places. We have shelters set up in our back yard which is enclosed by a 8 foot wooden fence and yet the Coyotes have been able to get the other three when they were out front. I love animals and detest people who throw out their animals because they get tired of them. If I could I would have an animal sanctuary and every animal would have a safe haven and food to eat for the rest of their life.
